"THE SPIRIT OF EXCELLENCE"
God's greatest desire is to develop you into becoming an OVERCOMING CHRISTIAN. The thing that God desires in you is the SPIRIT OF EXCELLENCE. Since everthing carries a spirit and that includes excellence. What does Excellence mean? The state or condition of being the highest or finest quality; to surpass normal. The best of your ability.
The root word is EXCEL, which means to transcend [ to rise above or go beyond the limits of]. You must decide I'm going to take my christian life to a new level. There are two things that help develop you and they are KNOWLEDGE and UNDERSTANDING.

PROVERBS 17:27 says "he that hath knowlegde spareth his words: and a man of Understanding is of an Excellent spirit".
That's why it's so important to aquire Knowledge; the scripture also says that "we're destroyed by the lack of knowledge". Knowledge gives you information and information gives you what you need to make good choices.
The Spirit of Excellence also carries an attitude to be your BEST. The mind set of Best has at least 6 characteristic's and they are (1) Quality (2) Satisfactory (3) Dependable (4) Faithfulness (5) Mature and (6) Committment. When you excel, it's usually because you're operating in some or all these characteristic's.
An Excellent Spirit gives you the edge over those who may not be giving there best. It says my performance level doesn't have to be mediocre; it can and will excel with a better out-look. Excellence must become a Habit, something we practice day in and day out. When you allow God to develop you; He then exposes your weakness and shows you how to improve the weak area.

Eph. 4:20-23 But ye have so learned Christ: if so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus: that ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; and be renewed in the spirit of your mind.
Rom 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your spirit, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God.
Decide today that you're going to be at your highest level of quality; whether at home, church or business. You're going to be the difference maker. Those that do it great rise ubove the normal. It doesn't make you better than anyone else; it just makes whatever you do better.
